Overlong, but this is a lively and hugely enjoyable sequel!
This film is a picayune too long, and doesn't quite have the charm of the predecessor. Only it is solid entertainment, with a skillful plot, and consistently expert acting, too equally the whole production looking stunning. Johnny Depp is every bit lovable every bit always as Jack, and Kiera Chivalry is as lovely as ever. Orlando Blossom, while less charismatic than he was in the showtime picture, is notwithstanding mannerly. Jonathan Pryce and Jack Davenport also delight, as does Stellan Skargaard as Bootstrap Bill. Simply an unrecognisable Bill Nighy nigh steals the show as the rather creepy Davy Jones. The special effects and the stunts were very impressive especially with the very scary krakon, and then was the outstanding music score and although the script lacks the sparkle of the predecessor, this is a resoundingly entertaining picture nonetheless. Oh, and be prepared for a surprise at the end. viii/10 Bethany Cox.

Good CGI effects, that's it
This is everything I detest near Hollywood blockbusters: pretentious, overly staged, clichéd, anticipated, full of lame humour and, the worst sin of all, entirely overlong. Truly, this movie doesn't know when to quit, and at two and a half hours the joke speedily wears sparse. When you're making a lightweight action flick, the final thing you desire to do is be repetitive: the lean pacing of a motion-picture show like RAMBO showed how to do information technology just right. This almost plot less amalgamation of natives, pirates, ships, swordplay, sea monsters, and zombie pirates is wearying across belief, a self-indulgent evidence piece conceived entirely as a money spinner and goose egg else.
Everyone raves over Johnny Depp in these films, but I'grand afraid to say I tin't stand the sight of Captain Jack. I suppose I'm the only one who thinks this drugged upwards, spaced out loser is entirely inappropriate in a child's film – a Disney film to boot. The rest of the cast fare no better, with Orlando Bloom a charisma-complimentary zone and Keira Knightley entirely bland. The huge supporting cast are entirely wasted, with aught roles for the returning Jack Davenport, Tom Hollander, Mackenzie Cheat, and Jonathan Pryce. Stellan Skarsgard pops up as a barnacle-encrusted pirate but he doesn't make much of an impression, either.
So why on earth did I watch this? For one reason lone: the special effects. I'd heard that the CGI in this actually was special, so I was eager to run across what multi-millions of dollars in computer effects could achieve. I wasn't disappointed. The unabridged moving-picture show is brimming full of effects piece of work, but they're most notable when it comes to the monsters. A behemothic kraken looks the part and is a definitely highlight, and the mud-men-zombies are also highly effective. Best of all, though, is Beak Nighy'due south character of Davy Jones, a guy who looks similar a homo Cthulhu. The squid effects used to animate Nighy are exceptional and amidst the best I've seen on film. Okay, so the script is daft, the spectacle excessive, repetitive and frequently against the laws of physics, only in terms of sheer CGI genius, this will have some beating.

utter madness
Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann's wedding is interrupted past Lord Cutler Beckett of the East India Trading Company who arrests them for aiding Captain Jack Sparrow. Norrington is also wanted but he has resigned and disappeared. Beckett offers Will pardons if he retrieves Sparrow's compass. Meanwhile Sparrow is haunted by impending doom from Davy Jones and his compass seems to be malfunctioning.
This is utter madness. Anybody who claims clarity most the plot upon watching it the showtime fourth dimension is only lying. The story is a convoluted collision of non-sense. The jumping from ane set of characters to the adjacent leaves the film disjointed. What'southward left is Johnny Depp doing a repeat operation. He continues to be one of the craziest grapheme ever. It'due south not original anymore but he'due south withal great like when he escapes from the natives. Davy Jones and his coiffure are things of marval. There is definitely greatness hither but it's a jumble mess.
